The Big...
I offer both business analysis and IT consultancy with particular interest in IT solutions and programme management. My background is in operations and technology programme management - having worked both in-house and agency side for new media, IT and manufacturing companies with big names like Dyson, Levi's Europe, the Royal Albert Hall, EDS (now HP) and the Football Association to name drop a few. I'm experienced working and running teams of creative and technical professionals, working in partnership with clients and getting the best out of suppliers. I started out my career 15 years ago as a geeky coder but prefer to help people get organised, understand where problems are and help them come up with a planned out strategy to fix them.
and the Small...
If you are a small business or a one man band this may all sound a bit intimidating and irrelevant. Since becoming self-employed and having two lovely children I've also realised I want a bit of my life back. Now I am happy to use my IT skills, forecasting and planning know-how and even brush off my web savvy site building and researching to help you put together a small website that Google will like, or make Word templates for invoices that aren't a pain to fill in. Little things to make your life a bit easier.
Most people I meet are frustrated with their computer but know they need it, can't quite sort their printer settings and generally find IT or financial/billing parts of their life something they want to avoid. I actually relish fixing things, making them work or finding better solutions for all those annoying niggly things that stop you doing your job. If you think your company needs a quick blog or a photo gallery of your work or help trying to make a Powerpoint presentation that doesn't send you to sleep then I can help!
I am based in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey and I service small businesses in Surrey and the Greater London area.
Coming Soon
After spending a lot of time with spreadsheets and accountants, I realised I may have a calling with juggling numbers full-time so I'm currently qualifying as a bookkeeper. Few people start their own business because of a passion to learn about debits and credits or a desire to spend their spare time dealing with invoices, bank statements and VAT returns. However it is essential to ensure that your bookkeeping records comply with current legislation and HMRC requirements. I certainly have experienced this first hand as a self-employed contractor. A good set of accurate books can help you gauge the profitability of your business and plan for the future.
Your needs may not justify the overheads involved in employing a full time bookkeeper. Using my services, you can avoid the hassle and costs of hiring an employee but still free up your day (or night) to focus on what you do best.
