Gion at night - mysterious rickshaw!

This reminds me of the blurred shot I took in McleodGanj last year with the prayer wheels. I'd just bought my new camera and K and I were trying out all sorts of shots and this was done with my new found friend, "night mode".

Kinkakuji Temple, Kyoto

Funnily enough, this is the Golden Temple in Kyoto...amazingly covered in gold leaf and a restoration as they keep burning down temples in Japan to show their strength of faith! Love the reflection - we got here really early so it was so wonderful and quiet.

Prayers, Wishes and Dreams

There is so much repetition in Japan of shapes and forms...these are for prayers and wishes and hang outside some of the temples.. I think this was in Tokyo...I saw so many temples I can't remember!

Kieran and Takuro take a break in Shuzenji....it was funny, once we started to lie down and look at the bamboo everyone else followed suit.

Glorious buddha

I love the gourd shaped votives...I have so many pictures of these. This buddha was off to the side of the main temple and in a peaceful spot.

Memoirs of a Kyoto Geisha

OK, so this slightly gives away where I've been on holiday for 10 days or so...but hey ho. There are so many pictures to post, my blog will be a full on Japanese fest shortly...expect this to run to June! I've already started with some plant life.. see the album.
